Yoga Pocahontas Meditation Retreat is located in an idyllic destination on the beautiful island of Koh Samui, Thailand. This retreat is for those who look to bring peace, harmony and serenity to their lives and reconnect with themselves and nature. Nature is a powerful source of healing, regeneration and insight. During the retreat we will learn to travel deeper into our senses and enjoy the different outdoor activities in the paradise island of Koh Samui, Thailand.Take this opportunity to travel with us to new destinations and discover unknown depths within yourself. It’s your true nature to be healthy, balanced and happy. During this retreat you learn how yoga, meditation and nature can help you rebalance your body and mind. Increase your self-awareness and go on to live a healthy and happy life.During the retreat we will practice yoga two times daily using a a variety of different yoga styles: Hatha, Ashtanga and Vinyasa. Our teaching approach is a balanced mix of strengthening while creating more flexibility. The yoga classes are suitable for beginners and advanced students alike. We teach several mediation techniques including Vipassana, Chakra-Balancing, Walking, Dynamic, Nature, Mantras and analytical Buddhist meditation. You will learn and begin your own self-practice through the most suitable meditation for you. These techniques will allow your mind to experience an oasis of peace and love within your heart and mind. Morning yoga and meditation classes will be held at Vikasa Yoga Retreat. All meditation and yoga classes are held at an open studio overlooking the clear blue waters of the Gulf of Thailand. In the afternoon you will be traveling to our favorite secret spots on Koh Samui. It’s your time to take the next step to practice and reconnect in nature. By combining the yoga and meditation program with healthy food options you will enjoy a much deeper sense of connection and stillness between your body and soul.

Our stressful and sedentary lifestyles create stress and if left untreated, risk of disease or bodily harm. The corporate world of sitting in front of computers for long hours, often in offices with artificial light can dampen our senses and suppress our life force energy. During this time of rapid change and transformation in the world we live in, it’s more important than ever to cultivate peace and harmony within ourselves.

March 21, 2015: Please arrive no later than 12 noon for a welcome session on the first day at 1pm. Welcome session 1-3 pm: Introduction and yoga class in small yoga shala. Evening meditation 8.30- 9.00 pm: Nature meditation on the rocks. Departure is 12 pm on the last day (March, 27th). You are welcome to arrive early or stay on.
7:45 am – 8:30 am: Group meditation.

8:45 am – 10:15 am: Yoga.

10:30 am – 11:30 am: Healthy brunch buffet at Vikasa Life Café.

11:30 am – 2:00 pm: Free time.

2:00 pm – 5:00 pm: Adventure activity such as hiking or elephant riding.

6:00 pm – 7:15 pm: Yoga.

7:30 pm – 8:30 pm: Healthy dinner buffet at Vikasa Life Café.

ALICIA

One can’t help but be captivated and driven by Alicia’s energy, her passion and enthusiasm for yoga shining through, pushing your yoga abilities to new levels. Alicia was born in Spain and become a professional athlete at age 14. She is an experienced yoga teacher (RYT 200) with over seven years of practice experience with different teachers around North America, Europe and Asia. She is also certified in Tera Mai Reiki levels 1 and 2. She first turned to yoga to recover from serious physical injuries she acquired during her career as a professional swimmer. Through yoga she discovered how to connect with and balance her mind, body and soul. Yoga is now allowing her to share the message of a healthy and happy way of life with the rest of the world. She has a strong practice in meditation combining different methods, including Zen (Vipassana) and Chakras meditation in order to manage stress and self-awareness.

BETTI

Betti has studied and practiced yoga for more than 10 years in diverse styles and different settings in Europe and Asia. Her expertise extends beyond a registered yoga teacher into the world of Reiki with a deep passion, rooting and understanding of Vipassana meditation. At Vikasa Yoga Retreat, Betti is one of the resident yoga and meditation teachers, mainly teaching Hatha and Vikasa Flow classes. She is running the Anti-Stress program at Vikasa, giving regular Yoga and Meditation Retreats and Reiki sessions. The rest of her time she is traveling and teaching around the world. In 2014 she was grateful to teach at Mahabondhi International Yoga and Meditation Center in Leh, Ladakh. Believing that one of the essential parts of yoga is meditation, she is very well practiced in several meditation techniques that can be applied in all walks of life with lasting health benefits for the body, mind and soul. Having an extensive corporate background, she knows that integrating yoga into your demanding daily life can be quite a challenge. With her infectious passion and smile she will not only help you to unwind during sessions, but also show you how to build a daily practice for a balanced and healthy life at home. Yoga has been an essential tool in her personal journey, and one that she is passionate about sharing with others.

Yoga & Meditation Retreat takes place in Vikasa Yoga Retreat. Vikasa is a special place for completing a personalized program.
